2. 教学难点:学生能够打开思维,正确运用阅读技巧与策略,深刻理解文章,从而提高阅读能力;

教学步骤:

Step 1. Lead in

1. 复习文中出现的动词过去式;

2. 复习关于天气的词;

3. What should we prepare if we know the rainstorm is coming?

(flashlight, radio, put some pieces of wood over the window, candles, matches…)

设计意图:和学生们一起复习动词过去式,回顾学过的天气的词来导入新课,之后先学习文中出现的几个生词,为接下来的阅读铺垫。

Step 2. Reading

1. Skimming (Go through the title and the passage quickly and fill in the charts.)

2. Scanning (Read the passage again and fill in the chart. )

3. Close-reading (Read the passage and fill in the blanks. )

设计意图:采用阅读三策略skimming,scanning和close-reading,让学生掌握阅读技巧,从而提高阅读策略。

Step 3. Retell the passage

Retell the passage according to the key words and pictures.

设计意图:通过游戏及小组之间合作等方式来复述课文,加深学生对文章的理解。

Step 4. Writing

1)Before writing

Listen and read the passage “The news report about Typhoon Meranti”.

2)Writing

Before the typhoon/During the typhoon/After the typhoon

3) Present the writing frame

Step 5. Summary

Summarize what we have learnt today.

(Key phrases and sentence patterns)

Step 6. Homework

Review the words, expressions and sentence patterns in this part;

Complete the composition.
