1. Revision

T: Last week,there was a rainstorm.课件展示两张图片.要求学生根据图片内容回答问题

T:Where was/were he/they when the rainstorm came?

What was/were he/they doing when the rainstorm came?

(师生对话,复习上节课所学:过去进行时的结构和基本用法)

2.Lead in

(1)课件展示2008年汶川地震图片 ask Ss:What has happened? 并学习新单词:earthquake

(2)Ask: What were you doing when the earthquake happened in 2008?

学生回答之后继续提问What should we do when the earthquake happen?(进行情感教学:当地震发生时,可以躲在墙角或桌子底下,如果有可能跟着大人跑出教室等措施,一定要冷静应对、不能慌张)

(3)There are a lot of natural disasters all over the world. Let's look at some pictures and think about what happened in Alabama.课件展示图片和音频文件,导入新单词:storm.

Let's learn a passage about the storm in Alabama:The storm brought people closer together.

3.Presentation

1.Explain:closer together

2.Ask Ss to describe a picture(检查预习情况), 学习fall down/ broken/ rubbish

3.Fast reading
