四、教学思路
本课的教学内容是人教版八年级英语下册第五单元的第三课时, Section A的Grammar Focus--4c部分主要是通过练习进一步熟练运用连词when和 while以及过去进行时。对这部分的学习,应让学生先独立完成,再核对答案,纠正他们的错误,以加深记忆和理解。

六、教学过程
Step 1 Greeting and review
Sing a song like this:
Were you sleeping? Were you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
I was playing, I was playing.
Ding-ding-dong, Ding-ding-dong.
And let the students make their own songs.
Step2. Guess Game
Ask the students what they were doing when the bell rang.
And let them guess what Miss. Guo doing when the sun came out.
Step3. Pairwork
Let the students make a conversation in pairs to talk about what were they doing, and what were their parents doing.
Step4. Grammar Focus1: The past continuous tense
let the students conclude the definition of the past continuous tense.
Conclude the structure of the past continuous tense.
S(主语) + was / were +v.-ing + 其它
S+wasn’t/weren’t+其它
Was/Were+S+其它
Step5. Consolidation
Do some exercise to consolidate the usage of the past continuous tense.
Step6.Listening
Listen to a piece of news that an UFO landed in the neighborhood, and let the students fill the blanks with “when” and “while”.
