学情分析
本班学生英语基础较好,对英语学习比较感兴趣,但是语法学习比较枯燥,学生注意力容易分散。因此,在本节课的教学过程中,我注重启发引导,设计的活动来源于他们的日常生活,激发他们的学习兴趣,让学生易于接受,乐于接受。
重难点

教学流程
Step 1 Lead-in
Play a guessing game. Ask one student to come to the front and do some actions. Other students guess what he is doing. They may say “Are you swimming/playing…?” or “He is swimming/playing …”
(通过学生做动作和猜测,复习现在进行时,引导学生过渡到过去进行时的学习,同时,激发学生的学习兴趣。)
Step 2 Presentation
Ask the students to enjoy some pictures of theirs. Ask them “What were you doing at that time? What was he/she doing at that time?” They answer the questions using different persons: the first person and the third person. In this way, they can think about the Past Progressive Tense.
(看照片,让学生运用过去进行时描述自己当时的行为,学生能回想起过去进行时的基本结构。使用学生们自己的照片,能够让他们练习不同的人称和单复数,还能调动他们的积极性和参与性。)
Step 3 Learning
Show them three sentences and ask them to observe the sentence structures. Point out they are using the Past Progressive Tense. Let them summarize the basic sentence structures and tell them when and how to use this tense.
(让学生观察例句,然后得出过去进行时的基本结构,便于学生掌握,教师再给予点拨,加深印象。)
Ask them to change the sentences into question sentences and negative sentences. And sum the changing rules.
(让学生先做,然后观察并得出结论,加深学习和对这一时态的了解。)
Ask them to change the verbs into present participle. Then sum the changing rules.
(观察、得出结论,复习和掌握现在分词的变化规则。)
Step 4 Practice
Do some exercises about the tense. Check the answers together.

Step 5 Presentation
Ask the students to observe the sentences in the exercises. Point out the two words “when & while”. Ask them if they know how to use them.
Give them two groups of sample sentences. Ask them to try to sum the usage of “when & while”.
(观察例句,总结when和while的用法和区别。)
The students fill in the blanks with when and while to consolidate.
(简单巩固when和while的用法。)
