Step1, Greeting and lead-in

T: Today, we’ll learn a passage. What is it about? Please look at the picture. Do you know the man? Ss: Yes, he is Martin Luther King. T: Yes, (he was a great leader of the black people in modern American history. He is a kind and helpful man. He did a lot of good things for the people of America. He was murdered by terrorists. His famous speech was “I have a dream”.) Let’s enjoy it. (播放录像让学生更直观的了解历史事件)
The second picture is 9.11event. American World Trade Center was taken down by terrorists on September 11, 2001.Now let’s see the real scene of“9.11”. (通过介绍两个历史事件让学生更好的理解文章,为下面的阅读文章做好铺垫)
3. Guess: T: Now we can guess the passage is about … Ss: It is about Martin Luther King and American World Trade Center. T: Look at the title of the passage. “Do you remember what you were doing?” We can infer the passage may also talk about what were people doing when the events happened.
