Step 1 Lead in
Review .Ask Ss several questions to make a conversation with them.
“Do you like stories? Could you tell me which story is your favorite?”
T: Everyone has your favorite stories. Some like western stories, while some like eastern stories. Let’s go over some famous Chinese stories. Then show some pictures of western stories to lead in today’s topic The emperor’s new clothes.
2. Watch a video The emperor’s new clothes. Ss answer several questions.(the title, the main characters,…)
Step 2 Pre-listening (pair work)
1. Learn some new words with the pictures, and use these words in the sentences.
( emperor, gold, silk, cheat, stupid)
2. Play a guessing game to check if they can remember the new words.
3. Finish 1a.
Step 3 While--Listening
1. Finish 1b.Listen and number the pictures in 1c.
2. Finish 1c,listen again and fill in the blanks.
Step 4 Post—Listening
Get the Ss to observe some sentences. And ask “What did you find?”

1. Pre--speaking
T: By now, I think you already know this story very well, right? Now, I want you to retell the story. Now learn to write some sentences by yourselves according to the pictures .

T: Now you should work in groups of four to six, and think about some sentences to describe these pictures and try to act it out with the partners.
