3.Moral Objects
After this period, students will try their best to put what they have learnt into use in English in daily life.
Teaching Key Point:
Make sure students grasp the basic usage of past progressive tense by listening and speaking practice.
Teaching Difficult Point:
Remind students to pay attention to “was/were” and adverbial of time in past progressive tense.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Lead-in
Talk about the weather to show the new word rainstorm,then have a game.
Show some pictures to let students guess “What are they doing?”
Step 2 Sentence teaching
Ask two questions(What are we doing now? What were you doing at this time yesterday?)to introduce past progressive tense.
—What are you doing now?
— I am having an English class.
— What were you doing at this time yesterday?
—We were having an English class.
Then show a chart to ask and answer with students.

Let students work in pairs to ask and answer questions according to the information of the chart and the conversation pattern. Then invite several students to present their conversations.
Finally, play a video and students help the policeman remember “What was Mr.Green /Mrs. Black/Mr. Brown doing? ”
Step 3 Practice--listening
1. Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture.
2. Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses. Then check the answers.
