教学思路
本课的教学内容是人教版八年级英语下册第七单元的第三课时。该课时为重点课时,主要是锻炼学生的阅读能力。通过英语阅读,既能够练习学生的语音语调,便于提高英语听力,又能够积累语句,加强记忆,为英语写作打下牢固的基础,还可以组织学生进行创造性的实践练习来丰富学生英语阅读空间。
本课阅读主要讲的是珠穆朗玛峰的相关知识和登山者为了梦想而努力奋斗的精神,这正是本课的情感目标。通过学习这篇阅读,引导学生画思维导图并学会复述原文。并通过阅读学习新词汇和新句型,而且要引导学生发现登山者身上挑战自我的精神。本课题跟登山有关,知识面广,趣味性强,提高了学生的阅读兴趣。

Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in by asking questions:
Do you know the name of the mountain?
What do you know about Qomolangma?
Where is it?
What else do you know?
T: Now let’s learn an article about Qomolangma and the climbers.

Step 2 Preview
Before reading, check the preview to the words and phrases.

Step 3 Reading
Ask the students to use skimming to get the main idea of each paragraph.
设计意图:让学生掌握略读的阅读技巧。
Ask the students to use scanning to find out comparative adjectives and superlative adjectives.
设计意图:让学生掌握寻读的阅读技巧。在精读前找出本课的形容词比较级和最高级,为课文的理解和下节语法知识的学习打下基础。
Ask the students to read paragraph 1 carefully, list the dangers for climbers. When they finish it, ask one to list in the part of the brain map on the blackboard.
Ask the students to read paragraph 2 carefully, list the achievements of climbers. When they finish it, ask one to list in the part of the brain map on the blackboard.
