Step1. Greeting .

Step2. Revision:

The sentences using comparisons:

T: What’s the highest mountain in the world ?

Ss: Qomolangma.

T/Ss: Can you talk about Qomolangma using different comparison sentences?

S1: It’s the highest of all the mountains in the world.

S2: It’s higher than any other mountain in the world.

T: What’s the deepest salt lakes in the world?(Talk about the Caspian Sea/ the Sahara like this.)

…

T: Let’s compare China with the US.

T/Ss: China is much older than the US.

China is almost as big as the US.

Step3: Free talk:

Pandas live in China. Do you like them? Why? What do they like to eat? Do you like to know more about pandas?

Step 4: Presentation:

Show the facts about these two animals in 1a. And try to discribe the elephant and the panda. (可以不用比较的句型。)

Try to use the language in the box to help you make sentences. (用表比较的句型)

Language point：

倍数表达法：倍数+比较级+than

尽量用倍数句型来比较两个动物。

Step5：Lead in (学生的知识面比较窄，需要老师给适当的补充)

Some facts about baby pandas or adult pandas .

Step6: Listening practice

Read the numbers in 1b.

Listen and check the numbers you hear. (1b)

Guess the answers in 1c.

Listen again and complete the sentences. (1c)
