Step1. Leading in and Warming up
1. Show a video about some animals and then ask the students to say what animals they can see.
2. Show some pictures about pandas to teach the new words .
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask the students to look at the picture in the reading passage to predict the main idea.
Step 3 While-reading
1. Guide the students to skim the passage to see if their predictions are right and conclude the general idea of the whole passage.
2. Help the students to get the main idea of each paragraph and conclude the main idea of the whole passage. And help the student to get the first reading skill---skimming.
3. Present the second reading skill---scanning to get the specific information.
4. Use the word bank to help them. After learning the new words, they will have a quick test.
5. Scan the passage and find out some numbers and find what the numbers mean.
6. Scan the passage and try to fill in the chart. Remind them to take notes. And then let them have a discussion in groups and complete the task.
