【教学目标】

语言技能目标:

学生能够运用得体的语言从五个方面表达中国习俗和礼仪:

table manners, visiting others, choosing gifts, house rules, communication, ...

(2)学生能够总结阅读经验,写一封建议信,向外国朋友介绍中国文化习俗。

2. 语言知识目标:

(1)学生能够熟练运用“be supposed to do”,“be expected to do”,“be impolite to do”, “be important to do”和一些情态动词来提出建议。

(2)学生能够掌握三个写作技巧:1.运用多种句型,增添阅读趣味;2.添加细节信息,丰富写作内容;3.运用连接词句,清晰写作结构。

3.文化意识目标

学生能够通过表达和比较不同国家的文化习俗知识,了解不同国家的文化差异,提高人际交往能力,增进人与人之间的理解,培养跨文化交际的意识。

4.学习策略目标

(1)学生能够通过各种合作交流活动,得体地表达自己的观点。

(2)学生能够参照写作评分标准,互相评价课堂习作,避免常见错误,提高写作技巧。

【教学过程】

Step 1 Lead-in

Ss watch a funny video

T: This is Steve, an exchange student in China. What’s the problem with the man?

S: He can’t use the chopsticks.

T: Do you think he knows Chinese customs very well?

Ss: No.

Step 2 Give advice on Chinese customs

T: Steve knows little about Chinese customs, can you give him some advice?

Ss try to give the foreigner some advice on Chinese customs.

Table manners

Ss talk about table manners according to the pictures.

House rules

T: If you are an exchange students may live with a Chinese host family. What should you pay attention to?

S: You should keep your room clean.

When you go out, you should tell the family some important information. You’d better make a call if you don’t go home for dinner .
