Step1?Lead-in
Show?a?video?for?the?students.?Then?ask?a?question:?what do you think of the two men? Tell the Ss nobody likes the people with bad manners. But sometimes the ideas about polite behaviors are different in different countries. Show another video.
After the video, let Ss talk about the manners in foreign countries.
?Step2 Listening
Share a voice message with the whole class, ask the Ss to listen and find out Cao Zheng’s problem.
Step 3 Group work
To send a voice message to Cao Zheng, ask the Ss to work in groups, think about American table manners as many as they can.
Tell them to use different expressions when they give advice.
Step 4 Learn about Chinese manners.
Share Jack’s e-mail with the whole class, let the Ss give some advice about customs in China to Jack. Give them three topics to talk about. Then show some pictures about the three topics, ask the Ss to complete the sentences.
Step 5 Writing
Before writing, tell them to use different expressions, proper linking words and the correct tense to write the e-mail.
While?writing, guide them to add an ending to make their e-mail better.
After writing, share a composition with the whole class.
