四.Teaching and learning Methods:
Task, work in pairs, work in groups, summarize, practice and so on.
五.Teaching steps:
Step1. (Task1) Warming up. Let students watch the movie—Titanic; listen to the music--My heart will go on, then talk about how things affect people.
T: Do you like the music? S: Yes, I do.
T: How do you feel about the music? S: I like it, because…
Step2. (Task2) presentation
show pictures, let students work in pairs to talk about different feelings about different kinds of movies. Try to use the structures of “make sb do sth /make sb +adj”
Step3. Task3( Guessing game.)
Guess how they feel? Learn some adjective words about feelings.
Step4. Task4. Come to 1a. Look at the pictures about two restaurants Rockin’ Restaurant and Blue Ocean. Which would you like to go to? Why? Then, the teacher offer more information to help student to understand the pictures well. Prepare for the listening practice.
Step5. Task5. Listening practice. Listen and fill in the blanks. Finish 1b and read the sentences by themselves.
Step6. Task6. Role-play a conversation between Amy and Tina. Then, have a try, talk about their opinions about Rockin’ Restaurant and Blue Ocean Restaurant according to 1a, 1b.
Step7. Task7. Work in groups;
Discuss more information about Amy and Tina’s activities last night. The listen for the first time, get the main ideas and number the pictures [1-4] in the order, finish 2a. Listen again, listen carefully, complete the statements in 2b. Then, check the answers together.
Step8. Task8. Look at 2a and 2b. Read the statements by themselves. Role-play a conversation between Tina and John. Use the examples to begin the conversation.
J: Did you have fun with Amy last night?
T:Well… yes and no. She was really late. And waiting for her...
J:Where did you go for dinner?
T: First, we went to …But Amy didn’t …Because the… music made her nervous.
J:That’s funny. Loud music…
T: Me too. So we went to…And we had a good time.
Step9. Task9. Summarize together
Students summarize what they learned in class.
