First,let the students guess a riddle :The word has only two letters.When we talk about time,we use it.When we talk about weather,we use it.It hides in my riddle .Can you find it? Then, chant together
Tell the students that we'll talk about how to use it with our new friend Susan .We'll go to her house and school to learn more about it.
StepⅡ competition , discussion and summary
When we visit Susan's house and school,we'll have a competition.It has two rounds.In the first round ,every group will have two chances to answer my questions,if you are right,you can get one point for your group.In the second round,the first student to stand up and answer my question correctly can get one point for your group.
1.The first round:
Talk about the pictures about Susan with it and fill in the blanks.Invite the volunteers of each group to answer my questions.They can turn to their teammates if they have problems.
2.The second round
(1)Summary:Summarize the usage of it according to what we have talked about.Then encourage students to think of more about it.
(2)Activities:
Activity1:Play a guessing game. One student comes to the front to act out what I wrote down on the paper and the others guess what he/she is doing and make sentences with it .
Activity2:Describe the following pictures with it.
3.Announce the winners.
