Step 1: Greetings and warm -up
Invite some students to talk what people should do when they meet for the first time in different countries .
S1: In Mexico ,they are supposed to shake hands when they meet for the first time .
S2: In Brazil ,they are supposed to kiss .And in Korea ,they bow .
S3: In United State ,they are supposed to shake hands .
T:We have known what people should when they meet for the first time .It’s important for us to visit a foreign country .Now ,this lesson will learn “table manners” in different countries .It’s helpful for us to behave well at the table .
Step 2: Presentation
There are many table manners around the world. But different countries have different culture. In most Asian countries ,You’re not supposed to eat with your hands.You’re supposed not to talk at the table.The youngest person is not supposed to start eating first.
How much do you know about table manners around the world? Take the following quiz in 1a. Circle T for true or F for false after each sentences.
Then check the answers.

Step 3:Listening
1. Steve is going to China to study. His friend Yang Ming is telling him about the table manners in China. Listen and number the pictures in the order you hear them. Check the answers .
2.Listen again. Match these sentence parts. Finish 1c on page 77.
3.Present some picture on the big screen ,then invite students to describe them with “be supposed to ,it’s impolite to do ”.
Then lead them read out .Praise the best .
