三．教学重难点

1. 教学重点

1）重点单词和常用表达：land, suit, run after。

2）能正确运用must, might, could和can’t进行推断。

2. 教学难点

听力材料比较长，这会给听力任务的完成造成一定困难。

3. 教学难点应对措施

通过听前对图片进行充分的讨论，预测听力内容，以及对学生进行必要的听力技巧指导来降低听力难度。

T: Good. I will draw it step by step. You can guess by saying “Miss Wang might be drawing a…”.Ss: Great!

Ss look at the picture and guess.

S1: I think Miss Wang might be drawing a potato.

S2: I don’t think so. I think Miss Wang must be drawing an egg.

教师通过在黑板上一步一步画出一个UFO让学生猜测教师正在画什么，自然地引出话题，而且要求学生用must/might/could/can’t be drawing 的形式来进行猜测，一则复习情态动词表猜测的用法，二则为了接下去用现在进行时描述图片做准备。同时，在这个引入的过程中，自然地教授UFO, alien。Before-

2. PresentationAsk Ss to look at the pictures in 1a and use the words in the box to write a sentence about each picture.

T: It seems that you are all interested in UFO and aliens. Then let’s learn more about that.

Ask Ss to pay attention to the details like the curved lines in Picture a and the short dashes behind the man and the alien. These are drawn to show the movement. So tell Ss that they should use “be doing” to describe the pictures.
