Teaching Procedures:
Step 1. Warm-up Activities
Play a guessing game: show some pictures on the screen. Look at the pictures and use might, could, must or can’t to guess what it is or who he is.
T: Let’s play a game together. Look at the picture, is it a rabbit ?
S: No, it isn’t. It can’t be a rabbit. Because the legs are too big.
T: Look a the notebook. Whose book is it ?
S: It must be Carla’s. Because it has her name on it.
Step 2. Lead -in
Guess and say, what is it ?
T: Look at the picture, there is something in the sky. Can you guess what it is?
S: It could be a UFO/ It might be a plane./ It could be a bird.
T: But I think it can’t be a bird. Because it is too big, right? Now, let’s see what it is.
S: Oh, It’s a OFO.
T: Maybe it’s a UFO. We know UFO means unidentified flying object(不明飞行物). Some people says there are some aliens take the UFO to the earth. Maybe they come from other planets. But do you know what aliens look like?
Show some pictures on the screen: Maybe like this, a little scary and strange, or just like our human beings . So today we’ll learn something about UFO and aliens.
Step 3. Picture talk
Look at the pictures. Then use the words in the box to write a sentence about each picture.
Picture a : A UFO is landing. ( learning the new word: land)
Picture b : An alien is running after a man. ( run after )
Picture c : A man is running.
T: Do you know why he is running? Now, let’s listen to a conversation to find out the answer.
Step 4. Listening practice
Listen to the conversation and ask students to number the pictures 1-3.

Task 1: Finishing the story
write two or three sentences to finish the story:
