Teaching steps:

Step 1 Lead-in

1. Ask “ What kinds of music do you know?”

2.Guessing games: show some pictures and guess “What kind of music is it?”

Step 2 Presentation

1.Play some music and ask “ what kind of music do you like?”

T: I like this kind of music because it is quiet and smooth / it isn’t too loud.

I love music that is quiet and smooth / isn’t too loud..

T: When I hear this kind of music, I want to sing along with/dance to it.

I love music that sing along with/dance to.

T: Do you like this kind of music, it has great lyrics.

2.Read and recite the sentences.

Step 3 Pair work

1. Practice the dialogue in pairs.

A: What kind of music do you like?

2. Students show their dialogues.

Step 4 Presentation

Show some pictures and ask “ What kind of singers/musicians do you like?”
