Pre-task preparations1. Check the pre-learning task by reporting the ways of learning English in class. The other Ss add some more ways.To collect the key phrases by brainstorming to present the structure “by doing sth.”2. Tell your classmates about how you study English with the help of the teacher.To help Ss to further understand the meaning of the structure “verb + by doing sth.” and use it in specific situation.2. While-task procedures1. Ask and answer in pairs about how to study English, then show your conversations and describe some other Ss’ learning ways.

To practise the target sentence pattern.2. Look at the picture on page 1, talk about the three Ss and then listen to the tape recording in 1b and finish the activity according to the key words: the ways and the names. Then show the answers by making conversations with your partner.To prepare for listening and capture the key information while listening to improve listening skills.3. Make a survey in your group of four. Ask three partners about how they study for a test and complete the chart. Then make a report in the class.To provide Ss with a chance to use the target language.

教材分析

本课是新目标九年级英语Unit 1 第一课时的听说课教学。本单元围绕How to study展开听说读写等一系列活动,语言结构仅为by with gerund结构表达学习方式,学生较容易掌握。本单元话题与学生的学习生活紧密联系,特别是对于九年级学生来说,本单元的学习意义重大,通过学习学生将获取更多有效的学习方法,养成良好的学习习惯,为以后的学习乃至终身学习奠定良好的基础。

学情分析

学生经过初中两年的学习,有了一定的语言基础,具备了一些语言学习的方法,但是本班学生为偏远农村中学的学生,根据调查了解,大部分学生语言底子薄,学习自信心不足,学过的知识忘得快,学习习惯有待进一步培养。由于学习条件有限,学生学习英语的方式较单一,因此在教学中应注重引导学生了解更多有效的学习方法表达方式,设计循序渐进的课堂活动,分层教学,激发不同层次学生学习的主动性。
