Step 1:Leading in
The teacher ask some questions about learning English. And use Zhang Zixin’s example to lead in the topic “good learning habits”. (用班级里的一个英语成绩不太好的同学举例,来引出学习习惯这个话题,能迅速吸引学生的注意力,呼吁学生一起为这位同学提建议,帮助他学英语,增加了学生学习目标文章的动力。)
Let the students think of some good learning habits. And then show some on the screen.
Step2:Fast reading
Give the student one minute to skim to passage and answer the questions.
(Before the read the passage, show some tips about skimming to help them grasp the main idea quickly)

Ask three students to answer the questions.
Step 3. Intensive reading
Students read the passage carefully and answer the questions.
1.Does the writer think that everyone is born with the ability to learn well? Do you agree? Why or why not?
2. Why is it a good idea to connect something you need to learn with something you are interested in?
3.What do the sayings “use it or lose it” and “Practice makes perfect” mean? Do you agree with them?
4.Do good learners learn from mistakes, or are they afraid of making mistakes?
