Step1:Lead-in
Start the class with a free talk about festivals between the teacher and students ,like “Do you like festivala?”, “how many festivals do you know?”or“which festival do you like best?”
Step2:Brainstorm and read
Play a game named “Brainstorm”: ask a student to stand up before the teacher shows the festival’s English name on the PPT,after the English name is shown, the student have to tell what the festival is in Chinese. After all the festivals are shown on the PPT, the teacher teaches the Ss to read these words or phrases, and then the Ss read these by themselves.
Step3:Look and say
Like the Brainstorm, ask a student to stand up before the teacher shows the picture on the PPT,after the picture is shown, the student have to tell what the festival is in English and say something else ahout the festival.
Tips: the teacher will play some videos about festivals which students aren’t familar with ,like the Water Festival, for the Ss.
