三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warming up and review
Show some pictures. Use “used to” and “but now” to describe the following pictures.
Ⅱ. Presentation
Learn the new words: European, African, British, speech, public, in public. Students read the words one by one. Then give them one minute to remember them.
After that, play a word game to help them remember new words.
Ⅲ. Grammar Focus.
1. Ask one students to read the sentences in the Grammar Focus and others follow him or her.
2. Grammar points.
1) used to的用法。
used to 意为“过去常常”，用于表示过去习惯性的动作或存在的状态，其中to后跟动词原形。used to只用于一般过去时态，没有人称和数的变化。
2) 句式结构。
肯定句: 主语+ used to + do...
否定句：主语 + didn’t use to + do ...
一般疑问句：Did ＋主语 ＋use to ＋do...？
答语：Yes, sb did. / No, sb didn’t.
反意疑问句：主语+used to do …, didn’t + 主语？
主语+didn’t used to do …, did+ 主语？
3) 辨析。
used to do sth.表示过去习惯性的动作或存在的状态。to后跟动词原形，只用于一般过去时态。be/get used to + n./pron./doing意为“习惯于……”，to是介词，后接名词、代词或动名词。可用于各种时态。be used to do 意为“被用来做……”，被动语态结构，to后跟动词原形。IV. Practice
