Step1: Enjoy a song about childhood. Lead in the topic:
Did you have a happy and colorful childhood?
Step2: Introduce my childhood using pictures to help students
review “used to”.
In my childhood, I used to watch cartoons.

设计意图:通过让孩子们知道老师的童年来引导孩子对自己童年的回想,将学生引入具体语言情境中来理解used to do 的用法。
Step3: Lead in topic: What about your childhood?
What did you use to like when you were a child?
Then show pictures on the screen.
Ask the students: Did you use to like this when you were a child?
At the same time, learn the new words.
设计意图:让学生回忆自己的童年,回忆自己喜欢和不喜欢做的事,具体语境中理解used to like的含义和用法。
Step4: Ask students to Check (?) the things they used to like when they were a child in 1a in the textbook .Then invite some students to share their sentences.

设计意图:复习used to do ,使学生正确使用它来表达。
Step5: Group work: What other things did you use to like to do when you were a child? Write
sentences using used to ... but now. Then discuss them with a partner. Give some examples to help them.
设计意图:通过相互讨论合作来使学生更好地运用used to do, 过去和现在相对比着写句子使学生加深对used to do含义的理解。
Step6: Listen and check (?) the sentences you hear.____1. I didn’t use to like tests. ____2. We used to walk to school.____3. I used to hate P.E. class. ____4. I used to be on the soccer team.
Step7: Listen again. What do the girl and the boy say about things in the past and now? Ask students to fill in the chart ,check the answers and then let them make sentences using the information in the chart.
设计意图:在听力中训练学生对used to do的理解并能正确填写信息答案。根据所填信息使用used to do.....but now 造句,一方面使学生更好地理解听力,另一方面帮助学生更好更准确地使用used to do.
