七、教学步骤
1. Warm-up and Lead-in
(1) Daily greetings to the students
(2) The volunteering activities of a popular star.
2. Pre-reading
Show pictures of 2 volunteers in 3a.
Read the text quickly to know the names of 2 volunteers and find out what they volunteer to do.
Let students ask questions about the text and explain to them.
3. While-reading
Read Paragraph 2 and answer questions.
Ask students to check the answers and finish the mind map.
(3)Read after the tape recording. Repeat the whole story. Then try to retell the paragraph with the mind map.
4. Post-reading
Group work: Read Paragraph 3 and draw the mind map of Paragraph 3.
Get several students show their works and try to retell the whole story.
5. Homework
(1) Try to retell the whole passage using the mind maps.
(2)Talk about your volunteering activities and draw a mind map of it.
