中学生对中国传统艺术文化有关的风俗习惯和文化背景很感兴趣,本文介绍了中国最具特色的传统艺术如孔明灯、剪纸和泥塑等,在培养学生阅读能力的同时,可以拓宽学生的知识面和提升民族自豪感,对学生跨文化交际意识和能力的培养也有很大的作用。
四、教学过程
Step I. Greetings and duty report:
The duty reporter first shows a picture of her friend Lucas who is interested in traditional Chinese culture to the students,and ask students to recommend some places in Chengdu which is famous for traditional Chinese culture to him. Then the reporter shows a video about Lucas’ trip to Jinli Ancient Street. Let other students watch the video and answer two questions: How many traditional art forms are mentioned in that video? What are they? Finally the reporter introduces the traditional art forms mentioned in the video in details.
Step II. Lead-in:
T: The duty reporter has just introduced some traditional art forms to us. Do you want to know more? Today, we are going to learn a passage about traditional art forms. Please turn to page 38 and find them.
Step III. Before reading:
1. Teacher asks students to look at the three pictures in the passage and answer what traditional art forms are introduced.
2. Make predictions:
Teacher asks students to look at the title of the passage Beauty in common things and the three pictures, then predict what common things are mentioned and what beauty refers to.
Step IV. While reading
Fast reading:
Read paragraph 1 and answer: What common things are mentioned in the passage?
Read paragraph 2-4 and answer: What does beauty refer to?
T: Why do Chinese people turn common things into objects of beauty? What do the traditional art forms try to show? Read paragraph 1 and answer.
Read the whole passage and find out: which paragraph is the general introduction and which paragraph is the specific details and examples?
