Step 1: Lead in

Show students a picture of paper cutting and ask them if they are interested in Chinese traditional art.

Step 3: Consolidation

Review words and expressions. Students read aloud.

Step 4: Reading practice

Fast-reading

Ask students three questions and let them read the text fast and try to answer the three questions and finish the chart below. It may last 5 minutes.

Read the text carefully and finish the questions and the chart below.

Mind map:

Set an example to the students. Instruct them to finish a mind map and paraphrase the whole paragraph.

Paragraph 4 is about clay art. Divide the whole passage into several parts and let students put them in right order to see if they really master the skills.
