2.1 Teaching material:

The material of this class is the using language part taken from Unit6 When was it invented? The topic of this unit centers on the inventions in the past.

The reading period includes three parts: pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading. While-reading we can divied it into two parts: fast-reading and careful reading. During the reading period, we need to train students’ skimming, scanning and comprehensive skills.

Reading is for writing. So in this period, the teaching activities will focus not only on reading skills but also on reading structure. Then the students can copy the similar structure to write. The practice of reading and writing is important for students to use the vocabulary and structures they have learned. It is also a best way to test if students have mastered what they have learned.

2.2 Teaching condition:

The learners of this class are from Yuhuan Bilingual School, a Junior Two school. Therefore, my students have a good foundation of English, as well as a good ability of listening and speaking. They are also interested in group work, so they will be easily activated through some discussion and group work. What’s more, the topic “Basketball” is quite appealing to them, especial for the boys.

Write an invention which impressed them most (including history, function, inventor, and so on)
