Step1.Lead-in
a. Listen to a song and guess the name----mother.
b. Have free talk about mother to recall own mother.
Do you love your mother?
What do you think of your mother?
C. Lead in the topic by a picture about mother’s love.
Step2.Presentation :Reading(3a)
Pre-reading
Task1 : Listen to the tape and feel mother’s love.
Then ask students “How do you feel after listening?”to know students’ feelings.
Task2: Read the poem full of feelings .(The teacher reads the first paragraph to give a demonstration,then invite three students to read the other three paragraphs. After that, find out the mistakes and correct together in class.)
Task3. Discuss what the title“ Mom knows best” means.
Invite two students to express their ideas. After answering , tell students a saying:
A mother understands what a child does not say.
