一、Free talk

Let the students look at these rules, and use “I think …”,“I don’t think…”,“I agree/disagree” and “should /shouldn’t be allowed to” to express their own ideas.

Rules for Teenagers

1.Don’t smoke! 2.Don’t drive!

3.Get ears pierced! 4.Have a part-time job!

二、Lead-in

Let the students watch a video and answer the question

“What’s it about? ”. Then finish the rules in the video.

三、Presentation & Practice

1.Show two pictures about the rules and teach passive voice with modal verbs.

2.Pair work:

A: What rules do you have at home/ at school/ in your classroom / in your dining hall?

B: We should/ shouldn’t /must/ may be ….

3.Grammar Focus

①Read the sentences on the left in Grammar Focus and answer the following questions.

②Read the sentences on the right and find their function

③Read and match the statements.

4.learn to rewrite the sentences

5.4a

①Let the students rewrite the sentences and ask some students rewrite on the blackboard.

②check the answers and ask some stuents to explain the steps of rewriting the sentences . And ask some students to make sentences by using new words or phrases.
