Step One: Lead-in
1. Write the title of the unit “Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes” and explain it.
2. Show some pictures and talk about hobbies and dreams with students.
“What’s your hobby? What do you want to be when you grow up?”
3. Show photos of Li Yuchun and Liu Xiang, and ask and answer.
“What does she want to be? She wants to be a singer.”
“What does he want to be? He wants to be a professional runner.
Many boys want to be a professional runner like Liu Xiang.”
Step Two: Reading
1. Discuss the questions in 2a.
Are you allowed to make your own decisions at home? What kinds of decisions?

Read 2b and answer the following questions, and try to make the students get the main idea of the passage.
