二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1) 掌握本部分出现的生词和词组,达到熟练运用的目标。

三、教学方法
本节课为本单元的第二课时,是一节阅读课,我将采用“语言交际法”,“任务型教学法”以及“小组合作法”。
四、教学过程
Ⅰ. Enjoying an English song :“Don’t be afraid!”
Ⅱ. Revision :revise“used to”
Show some photos of the students when they were little kids. Let them guess who they are and compare with what they look like today and say the changes on them.
Ⅲ. Warming up:play a game “That’s me”
Give students 5 sentences, if they have the same situation, they should stand up quickly and say “that’s me”.
I used to be short. 2. I used to be shy. 3. I used to have long hair.
4. I used to like story books. 5. I used to have a lot of free time.
Ⅳ. Before reading
Read the title together and try to guess some information through it.
Ⅴ. Fast reading
Tell Ss to read the article and identify the paragraphs in which the following information appears. Number the information [1-3].

____ Candy’s advice to young people
____ Candy’s background
Ss look through the article quickly and try to get the main idea of each paragraph.
