掌握本课时中出现的生词和短语：pollution,littering,waste, put...into, at the bottom of, burn coal, play a part in以及几个重点句型。

教学难点：

通过听说能够让学生掌握更多的污染，并能让学生谈论怎么样保护环境。

Step 1: Warming up

In order to make students know more about situation of our earth,play a video of Micle Jackson EARTH SONG.Afer listening to it, the teacher lead into the new topic: Unit 13, We’re trying to save the earth.Then show some pictures to students to make them realize world’s problems:endangered animals,pollution,desertification, natural disaster.

Step 2: presentation

First,according to the world’s problems,tell students that today our task is learning more about pollution.(板书此单词)

Second, ask students what kinds of pollution they know.They are air pollution, water pollution,noise pollution, soil/land pollution.

Third, finish 1a. Some words related to different kinds of pollution.Divide them into three groups, noise pollution,air pollution, water pollution.

Last, show some pictures related to different kinds of pollution.Talk about what cause these kinds of pollution and how should the problems be solved.

Water pollution Factories/ships put waste into the river.(板书此词组)

Air pollution Factories burn coal. （板书此词组）

Noise pollution

Step 3. Consolidation

Listening tasks.

Task 1:Pre-listening. The teacher told the students that she wanted to swim with friends, but she gave up! Guess? What happened?
