Step One: Lead in
T: Today is cool, it is very comfortable. Unfortunately, the air isn’t fresh and clean. Look! We need this. (Show a mask to students)
Step Two: Presentation
Show Ss some pictures in which people are suffering from polluted air. Let Ss know that this is air pollution.
Show Ss two pictures of the same river in different time, let Ss describe what is used to be like and what it is like now. Let Ss know that this is called water pollution.
Show Ss some pictures in which lots of cars are on the road, it is very noisy. Also, some people speak too loudly in public, it is noisy too. Tell Ss we call it noisy pollution.
Do 1a. Make Ss write down the words in the right place.

Role-play the conversation in 1b. Then make your own conversations about the kinds of pollution in 1a.
