In this class, we'll review the eight types of tenses. First, let's read a passage and then find out that how many kinds of tenses are used in this passage and what they are. Then discuss the answers with your partners. At last, the teacher add something important.

Step3. Revise the usages of the tenses.

Put up a big card that has a time and tense axis on the blackboard. The axis shows the eight types of tenses in the different parts of time(past, now and future). When show the axis, have the students look at the screen. And then explain the sentences one by one. At the same time, let students do some related exercises.

The usages and example sentences:

1、一般现在时（主+am/is/are +其它）（主+do/does+其它）

1). 经常性或习惯性的动作，常与表示频率的时间状语连用。

　　例：I leave home for school at 7 every morning.

2). 客观真理、客观存在、科学事实。

　例：The earth moves around the sun.

　　 Shanghai lies in the east of China.

2、一般过去时（主+was/were +其它）（主+did+其它）

一般过去时表示在确定的过去时间里所发生的动作或存在的状态。

　时间状语有：yesterday，last week，an hour ago，the other day，in 1982等。

　例：He went to school an hour ago.

　 When I was a child，I often played football in the street.

3、一般将来时（主+will/shall +do+其它）（主+be going to do+其它）

一般将来时表示将来某个时间要发生的动作或存在的状态。常与表示将来的时间状语连用。如：tomorrow，tomorrow morning，next week（year，term…），in （two days…），soon，the day after tomorrow等。

例：I will go to Beijing tomorrow.

4、现在进行时（主+am/is/are+doing+其它）

1). 表示说话时正在进行的动作.常和now，Look！Listen！或其他铺垫句连用。
