Present students several pieces of pictures and let students to speak out their professions.

Then ask students to take out a piece of small paper, write down their hopes on it.

Teacher asks questions like this: What do you hope to do in the future?

Students could write their hopes like this: I hope to.../ I’m going to.../ I’d like to...

Later teacher will collect these hopes in a mysterious box which could make their hopes come true.

Step2 Listen for the first time.

Ask students to look at the pictures in 1c for a while and get to know their professions. Then teacher plays the recorder. Students must listen to the class discussion and check the hopes they hear.

Step3 Listen for the second time.

Ask students to take out the handouts carefully. Before listening, lead students to guess some of the words they might fill in the blanks.

Then play the recorder again, ask some students to come to the blackboard to present their answers. Later check their answers.

Step4 Listen for details.

Ask students to read the three questions relating to the listening material on the handouts.

Play the recorder for the third time,pause at the key sentences.

Students have to write down the correct answers quickly.

Ask some students to give their answers and help them to correct their answers.

Step5 Practice

Lead students to study the listening material and do some exercises to grasp the new words and some useful expressions.

Step6 Emotional-education

After summarizing the key points learned in this listening class, play a wonderful piece of music for students and remind them that stick to the hopes and strive to the future.

Step7 Homework

Read and try to recite the listening material.
