Step1. Warming-up (Before reading)
Lead students to look back at their junior high school life and share their feelings.
Step2. While reading
Fast reading: Read quickly through the text to see what kind of writing it is, a story, a speech or a notice? Who wrote it ? And who is it for?
Skimming: Read the passage again and match the main idea of each part.
Step3.Reading for details(While reading):
Read Para.1 and answer:
What were the students like in Grade 7?
How have the students changed?
After that, encourage the students to infer: Does the teacher or the principle like the students from the first paragraph? Which sentences makes you think so? How does the principle feel about the students?
Read Para.2 and answer:
Who should the students thank and why?

Step 4.Retell the speech(After reading)
