Task 2 Purpose: To help students understand the passage better,learn the new words and phrases.

1. From a picture ,teacher tell a story about a graduation ceremony.

2.Teacher teaches the new words and new phrases.

While-reading:

Task 3 Purpose:To identify the text type and purpose.

1.What’s the main idea of each paragraph ? Match the paragraph with the main idea.

2. Read the passage and answer the questions.

1) What kind of text is this? Is it a story, a speech or a notice?

2) Who do you think wrote it?

3) Who is it for?

Possible answers:

It is a speech.

The principal of the school is probably the person who wrote it.

It is for the graduating students of the school.

3.What’s the reading strategy ?

Read the text quickly to know the writer,the purpose and the kind.
