How to deal with derivation.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead- in
Activity 1: enjoy a video clip of Shanxi in One Minute.
Purpose: to lead to the topic and arouse students’ interest
Step 2 Conversion
Activity 2 Q: In one minute, what happens in Yungang?
There are ten people stand at the foot of the Yungang Grottoes.
Purpose: to lead to one way of word formation, conversion
stand v. 站立；位于；忍受 stand for
n. 立场；看台；支架 hat stand
foot n. 脚；英尺；末尾 go on foot
v. 步行 we’ll have to foot it.
Activity 3 Exercise
Write down the part of speech of the underlined words.
