Ss. say the Inspiring words very loudly.( Where there is a will, there is a way./ I do, I Can, I win.)
T shares her own story about a Hanfu costume Party and show the new words--costume, embarrassed.
Step2. Before-listening
T takes new words “costume, embarrassed”as an example to show the property of words--Nouns, Adjectives and Verbs. Then T leads students to classify different kinds of words in 1d.
T asks Ss to share their own stories happened in the past using the words and phrase in 1a.
T tells another story( a Russian train went through the mountain on April 1st, 2009, and never came back.) and asks Ss to guess the reason so as to show the listening topic--April Fool’s Day.
T asks Ss to say what people do on that day so as to let Ss get much know about April Fool’s Day.
Step3. While-listening
Extensive listening
T tells Ss that they will listen to three people’s conversations(Nick, Dave, Joe) and for the first time, Ss should finish 1c.Before listening, T helps Ss find the key information in the four pictures so as to let Ss grasp the key points when listening.
For the second time, T asks Ss to listen to the whole conversation carefully and finish 1d.
Intensive listening
T asks Ss to listen these three people’s stories one by one and answer each question to see how they were fooled by others.
