Teaching procedure

Step1. Warming up.

. Read the chant : Book pen desk chair

. Ask and answer.

Are you happy?

Are you sad?

What color is the pear?

What is that?

What are these?

(3). Lead in the topic. Hello , class ! I have some clothes. Look here. (Show them.)There are pants , a skirt ,a jacket and socks. They are my clothes. Repeat the word clothes. Let Ss guess the Chinese meaning. Then read all together. Unit 5 Clothes.

Step 2. Teaching new lesson.

(1). Bring some Character Cards of Gogo , two boxes ,socks , a pair of pants , a jacket and a skirt to class . Using them , introduce the new words.

(2).Teaching the new words.

in Put Gogo in the box . T: Where’s Gogo? He’s in the box. Repeat in , in , in , in the box . Then read and make gestures.

Teaching : Where & the

skirt T:Look, this is my skirt.(Put the skirt into the box.)       Where’s my skirt ? It’s in the box. Repeat the word skirt, read and spell it .

on Put Gogo on the box . T: Where’s Gogo ? He’s on the box.

Repeat on , on , on , on the box . Read and make gestures . (Put the skirt on the box. ) T: Class , where’s my skirt ? (Guiding) Ss : It’s on the box .

Repeat under,under,under,under the box. Make gestures,read and spell it.

socks T: Look at the socks . They’re my socks. (Put the socks under the box. ) Where are my socks ? ( Guiding) Ss : They’re under the box.

pants T: These are my pants. Where are my pants ? (Put the pants under the box. ) Ss : They’re under the box. Read and spell the word .

jacket T: Where’s my jacket ? Ss : It’s in the box. Repeat jacket , jacket . Read and spell it. (Guiding) Ss : Where’s my jacket ? It’s in the box.

between Put the jacket between the boxes. T: Where’s my jacket? It’s between the boxes . Repeat between , between, between the boxes . Read and make gestures.(Guiding) Ss: Where’s my jacket ? It’s between the boxes.

(3). Listen to the disc and read after them. Review the new words. Make gestures to demonstrate the meanings of in , on , under and between .
