1. Review the first periods and fill in the blanks in Grammar.
2. Read the sentences aloud in Functions.
3. Preview the passage on page 41and translate the phrases into English on study paper.
In class:
Step 1. Review the color words in the first periods and read together.
Step 2. Describe the little girl with the color words. Then practice more by describing the minions. During this time, pay attention to the use of“same”. And help students know about the new sentence“Isn’t she cute?” and the new words : next to and cool.
Step 3. Listening.
1.Listen to the conversations and match the names with the children in the picture. (remind student s to pay attention to the color words.)
2.Listen again and fill in the blanks. Check answers and read together.
Step 4. Groupwork.
After listening, go on practicing more about describing a person in groups.
Each group choose a number and will find a person behind it. Then describe the person like this:
Eg: S1:What does she look like?
S2:She is tall.
S3:She has big eyes.
S4:She is in a white dress.
S5: …
S6:…
After the PK, find the best two groups and give them gifts to encourage.
Step 5. Reading.
1.Introduce Kangkang, the main character in this book, to students and then ask them to read and learn about his friend Michael. Fill in the chart on study paper. Then ask one student to check the answers on the screen.
