Step 1 Greeting and warming up

T:Good morning boys and girls, how are you today?

Do you know what date is it today? Yes, it’s November 15th. And what day is it today? It’s ___. What’s the weather like today?

Step 2 Lead-in

Show them a clock and lead out it’s time for lunch.

T: What time is it? Yes, it 12 o’clock. It’s time for lunch. Do you know what do we have for today’s lunch? Let’s have look!

(show them a site of food) review the learned words and sentences and lead out the main topic of the class at the same time: What do we have? We have some vegetable soup

Step 3 Pre-reading

T: Do you know how to make a vegetable soup? Today we are going to learn to make it!

Let’s guess: lead the students to guess what we need for the soup and try to lead out the new words: potatoes, tomatoes, carrots

Step4 while-reading

1. Finish food list together: listen read and say try to finish the food list of the vegetable soup.

Read again with the following questions:

How many steps are there to make a vegetable soup?

What are they? Try to number the picture in page61

Number the pictures together and explain the difficult phrases at this time.
