Step 1: Warming- up and lead in
1.Greeting :
2. Let’s chant Swim, swim, I can swim. together.
3.Review the words swim and dance, the sentences –Can you swim/dance? –Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
Step 2: Presentation
Present the new words and sentences:
Show a singing picture on the ppt, all the students know she’s singing. Then the teacher teachers the new word sing: sing, sing, 唱歌.’’ After that, the teacher asks “Can you sing?” One student answers “Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.”. Two students answer “ Yes, we can. / No, we can’t.” 引出主题句 Can you sing? Yes, we can.
Then show a picture of riding a bike, the teacher teaches the phrase ride a bike. Then asks students: Can you ride a bike?? Maybe someone answers Yes, I can. Maybe someone answers Yes, we can.
Step 3. Practice
1.Practice the sentences, and use the words we learned. For example:
--Can you sing ? --Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
-- Can you ride a bike? -- Yes , we can. /No, we can’t.
2. Play a game:
The teacher underlined a word, students can’t read it. If someone reads it, he or she will get a “bang”.
Step 4 Pair work
1.Use pictures to practice the dialogue. Students face to face, ask and answer in pairs, then act out the dialogue.
2. Play a game:
The teacher have four pictures, two students take out one of them, one student guesses “Can you sing?‘’, he or she has only three chances.
