Step 1: Warm-up
1. Brainstorming:
T shows antonyms to help Ss to get to know the meaning and usage of “or”.
T: Look at the picture. There are two elephants. Is this one big or small?
Ss: It’s big.
T: Look at the girl and the giraffe. Is she tall or short?
Ss: Short.

2. T asks Ss to guess the meaning of “or”.
3. T shows her picture and asks: Am I a teacher or a student? Ss: You’re a teacher. Then T shows her family album to introduce the words of jobs.
Step 2: Presentation
1. T shows her mother’s photo and asks Ss to guess who she is. Then T says: She works in a hospital. What’s her job? S guesses: She is a doctor. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it. Then T asks Ss to spell and read it one by one.) After practicing the word, T asks:Is she a doctor or a nurse? And help Ss to answer: She is a doctor.
2. T shows a woman’s photo and asks Ss to guess who she is. Then T says: My sister works in a hospital, too. But she is not a doctor. What’s her job? S guesses: She is a nurse. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it. Then T asks Ss to spell and read it one by one.) Then T asks Ss to practice the sentences: Is she a doctor or a nurse? Ss answer: She is a nurse.
3. T shows her father’s photo and introduces: He drives(开车) a taxi everyday. What’s his job? S guesses: He is a driver. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it.) Then T asks Ss to practice the sentences: Is he a nurse or a driver? Ss answer: He is a driver.
4. T calls her father: Hello, Dad. Let' go to see my aunt. Then she goes to a farm and introduces: My aunt works on a farm. What’s her job? S guesses: She is a farmer. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it. Then T asks Ss to practice the sentences: Is she a farmer or a driver? Ss answer: She is a driver.
5. T asks her aunt: Is my uncle at home? Aunt: No, he’s in the factory now. Then T introduces: My uncle works in a factory. What’s his job? S guesses: He is a worker. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it. )Then T asks Ss to practice the sentences: Is he a farmer or a worker? Ss answer: He is a worker.
6. T says: Now, I’m hungry. My cousin can cook delicious food for us. What his job? (PPT shows her cousin’ s job.) S guesses: She is a cook. (T plays the recording and asks Ss to read after it. ) Then T asks Ss to practice the sentences: Is he a worker or a cook? Ss answer: He is a cook.
Step 3: Practice
1. Listen to the tape and read after it.
2. Quick response: T shows the word cards quickly to find out who can read the words the fastest.
