Step 1 Warm up
Greet and let students sing the song-- Happy Birthday together.
Step 2 Task 1
1、 Divide the students into 8 groups. Review Section A--Section C, each group has a task to review the short part in this topic.
2、 Show time. Let each group to show their acting. If one group does well. They can get a flag.
Step 3 Task 2
1、 Show some pictures, ask students to say the phrases as quickly as they can. Have a competition, the group that has the most flags is the winner.
2、Let students match the verbs in the left column with the phrases in the right column. Finish 3.
Step 4 Task 3
1、 Show some past forms of the verbs. Ask students to read them and find the rules by themselves.
2, Have a summary.
3, Ask students to read the sentences in 1. Pay attention to the pronunciation of the past form of each verb ending with -ed/-d, then listen and check.
Step 5 Task 4
1, Show some irregular verbs and ask students to write down their past forms quickly. And see which group did best.
2, Check the answers with students together.
3, Review the grammar and the functions.
Step 6 Task 5
1, Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. Before listening, let the students look at the key words and try to guess that what the dialogue is.
2, Listen again and check the answers. Ask students to ask and answer like this:
A: What was the date yesterday?
B: It was....
A: What did Mary do?
B: She cooked a big dinner.
Step 7 Task 6
1, Have a summary about the grammar in this topic.
2, Write a passage about your birthday party, then read it in front of the class.
