Step1. Warm up
Greet to the Ss warmly.
Talk about the day the date.
【Purpose】Through warm greetings and free talk, attract the Ss’ attentions to this class and make preparation to the next step of leading into the topic of this class.
Step2. Pr-reading (Lead in )
T creates a situation: “Tom is in Mianyang, but his mom is in Beijing. If you are Tom,what would you like to do on Mother’s Day?”In this situation , Ss have a heated discussion. Then T changes the clothes style of Tom and his mom to talk about “what would you like to do on Mother’s Day in old days?” and Ss share their collected information to lead into the topic of this lesson some interesting new and old ways to send messages.
【Purpose】Attract Ss to the created situation to discuss and share the ways to send messages in old days and nowadays.Then lead into the topic naturally.
Step3. While-reading (Presentation)
Have the Ss listen to the first two parts of this text about the old ways to send messages ,think and answer the following questions:

Read in details with the pictures together.
