T: Boys and girls, we have a big holiday at the first day of the first month, it’s “New Year’s Day”. What’s the meaning?(出示PPT第5页)
Ss:新年。
T: Yes, in China we also call it “Yuan Dan”. So do you know when is New Year’s Day? Ss: 1月1日。
T: Good, it’s in January. 出示 “January”,教师用升降调教读单词,之后小组点读的形式进行练习检查学生掌握情况。读会之后,学生伸出手指拼读单词,教师板书“January”。It’s a long word, so we can write “Jan.” for short.告诉学生简写形式。之后进行句子练习,问:When is New Year’s Day?
Ss: January。此时教师引导句子 “It’s in January.”学生齐读句子。
T: We know it’s cold in January, do you want to get up early in the morning to go to school? 学生会说No。T: I also don’t want to go to school, so we can have a holiday, it’s “winter vacation”. (出示PPT第6页)教读此短语。出示句子 “When is winter vacation?” 学生答 “It’s in January.”齐读这两个句子。
