Teaching Procedures(教学过程)

1. Warm-up

Greeting [师生互相问候,拉近师生距离]

Sing a song: Teacher and Ss review the song “Auld Lang Syne” together. [通过师生齐唱一首关于朋友的英文歌曲,既可活跃课堂气氛,又导入到了本节课的主题]

2. Presentation

Leading in: Introduce a friend “Baby Clock” to Ss and bring Ss to visit the new friend. Then present a clock and tell Ss “Look, this is our new friend, Baby Clock” (向学生展示一个可以随意拨动的小闹钟)

[通过呈现实物clock 并将其拟人化,让学生与之做朋友,激起学生的学习兴趣]

Review the usage of time .Ask Ss “What’s the time, now?” Ss will answer” It is 7:00”. Then leads them to say “It’s time to have breakfast.” [拨动闹钟指针复习时间的表达法进而导入到对三餐的学习]

Show four pictures about Baby Clock’s diet of a day in turn. In other words, show one picture at a time. There are some foods for Baby Clock’s breakfast in picture 1. Similarly, we can see some foods for his lunch in picture 2, some snacks in picture 3 and some foods for his dinner in picture 4. Then teach Ss these new words. At the same time, teach the new sentences by doing some actions. [创设故事情境,通过去拜访新朋友并观察他在三餐中所吃的食物,将本课的词汇学习融入这一情境中。同时通过做动作教授新句型]

Play the tape and have Ss follow by looking at the conversation on page 28. Pausing after each sentence to have Ss repeat.

3. Practice

Role Play: Put Ss into pairs to practice acting out the conversation. Then ask volunteers to perform for the class.

Group competition activity: Divide Ss into three groups and tell them that they should make a dialog by using the important patterns. Then find out the winner and give them a gift.

Sing a song: Ss learn to sing the song on page 35 together.

5. Homework

Draw a picture of the foods you like and show it for the class in the next lesson.

Visiting your friends and learn to use the new words and expressions to communicate with them.
