1、教学重点:阅读并理解有关父亲节的短文介绍和故事

2、教学难点:生词tie、bar、bumper

四、课前准备:课件、8份调查表、学生教材。

五、教学过程:

Step 1 Warm-up / Review

1、Greetings.

2、Review some phrases such as bought some flowers,did things at home,helped cook dinner,helped wash the dishes,helped wash clothes and so on.

【设计意图:复习相关动词词组,降低学习难度,为接下来的读前活动做好铺垫。】

Step 2 Pre-reading

Ask : When is Mother’s Day? When is Mother’s Day this year? What can we do to show love to our mother? What did you do for your mother on Mother’s Day this year?

Step 3 While-reading

1、Paragraph 1:

1) Aks Ss to read Paragraph 1 and answer: When is Father’s Day ? ,Then check the answer.

2) Ask Ss to look at the two pictures in Paragraph 1and answer:What can you see in the pictures?

【设计意图:培养学生读图能力,学会结合图片提取先关信息,同时为学生回答下一个问题做好准备。】

3) Ask Ss to look at the calindar and answer: When is Father’s Day this year?

2、Paragraphs 2 -3

1) Aks Ss to read Paragraphs 2 -3 and answer: What can we do to show love to our fathers? Then check the answer and present the new word :tie.

3、 A story about Kitty and his father

1) Ask Ss to look at the pictures and ask: What can you see? Where are they?

【设计意图:培养学生读图能力,同时在有限的教学时间里练习学生口语能力。】

2) Ask Ss to find the English names for the two things from the story quickly.

【设计意图:培养学生快速阅读寻找关键信息的能力,同时在情境中教学生词:bar, bumper。】

3) Ask Ss to read the whole story and write a name for the story. Then check the answer and write the different names down on the Bd. Ask Ss to choose the one he/she likes best.

【设计意图:为故事取个名字,目标是培养学生综合理解概括能力,允许学生选择自己最喜欢的名字,旨在培养学生发散思维能力。】

4)Ask Ss to read the story for the third time and answer the question:

What did Kitty and her father do in the Children’s Park?

【设计意图:先让学生画出句子,旨在培养学生提取信息的能力,然后转述人称,写下答案,目的是培养他们的语言表达能力。】

5) Discuss: Why did Kitty ask her father to do these things?

【设计意图:结合提问巧妙进行情感教育:学会如何感恩,同时为下一步分享故事做铺垫。】
