IV. Teaching procedures.

Lead in

Step 1. Watch a video

Play a video about Disney cartoons.

Step 2. Do you like funny cartoons?

T: Do you like the video? Ss: Yes.

T: They are fun, they are funny, they are funny cartoons.

Teach and read: funny / cartoon. Lead in the topic.

2. Presentation

Step1. Introduce Beebo.

Show pictures of Baymax and Elsa and introduce them, then introduce Beebo.

Beebo: I have a big nose/ two big eyes/ two big ears. Look, I have a big head.

Teach: head. Then make some sentences.

Then lead to learn arm/ hand/ foot/ body in the same way. Remind the Ss of the plural form of foot-feet. Some practices (e.g. chant) are set to consolidate the new words.

Step 2. Watch and think.

Play a video about an old man dancing with a foreigner. Ask the Ss to think: Why does the old man do this?

Emotional education: Sports and exercises make us healthy. Shake our bodies!

Step 3. Read and spell.

Ss read the new words and try to spell them.

Step 4. Watch and do

Play a song: Head, shoulders, knees and toes.

Then ask Ss to try to sing the song.

Step 5. Group work: Let’s talk

Introduce the sentence pattern: I have two arms. My arms are short. Ask Ss to make sentences in groups.

Consolidation: Think and say

Ss fill in blanks and complete the introduction of Beebo. Correct answers and ask them to read the text.
